SW Product Assurance and Configuration Management Engineer

Duties

The most important activities that characterize the position are the following:

SW Product Assurance

• Define, implement and maintain the Software Product Assurance Plan and project-specific requirements.
• Manage Non Conformances (NCR and SPR), starting from the observation until the resolution and close-out.
• Provide Software Product Assurance support across the full software lifecycle (requirements definition, design, implementation, verification, validation and delivery).
• Processes and SW Products metrics monitoring, analysis and reporting
• Support and perform software code inspection activities to ensure compliance with applicable coding standards, quality requirements and ECSS guidelines, providing independent assessment of software quality.
• Participate in technical reviews (e.g. PDR, CDR, AR, etc. ), providing independent assessment of software maturity and compliance.
• Support verification and validation activities by reviewing test plans, procedures and test results.
• Chair Boards established within the project for the disposition of Non conformances Review Board / Test Readiness Reviews / Post Test Review, etc.
• Performing dependability analyses in order to guarantee satisfaction of Customer requirements in terms of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (also FMEA/FMECA, SW Criticality analyses, etc.)
• Support and participation to Risk Management activities
• Produce reports to the Customer on SW PA activities performed

Configuration management

• Develop and implement a CMP (Configuration Management Plan) in the frame of the projects, , in compliance with the ESA general CM standards (e.g. ECSS) and Customer requirements.
• Define and maintain the configuration of the products (HW / SW) developed in the frame of the projects executed by ALTEC;
• Monitor and maintain the baseline applicable to the products developed in the frame of the projects executed by ALTEC
• Project documentation management
• Point of contact for Customers and Contractors for formal deliveries (documentation, products, etc.)
• Chair CCB (Change Control Board) in order to evaluate the proposed changes to the baseline coming from the Customer or to be addressed to the subcontractors.
