Project Manager

ALTEC is looking for a candidate who, as a Project Manager with at least 5 years of experience on management of complex projects, preferably in the space business, will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the project management lifecycles and methodologies. Proven ability to develop and implement detailed project plans to monitor and track project performances. Proficient in ensuring on-time deliveries through effective coordination of project team resources and in identifying areas of weakness and criticalities. Skilled in providing day- to-day leadership and management guidance to ensure the proper operational activities and controls to support the execution of the business strategy.

The candidate shall operate inside the Programs Unit, acting as integral part of a team of Program Managers for a variety of Space Projects in the operational phase, coordinating the full project team and interfacing with the Agencies and Customers. He/she shall have peculiar communication skill, decision making attitude and assertive and innovative approach for problem resolution, and shall be inclined to team working. It is essential the attention to schedule and economic financial aspects as well as the attention to build with the customer new opportunities, thanks to trust, reliability and proactive attitude.

The candidate will work on a wide range of complex and high-profile projects for the preparation and execution of the operational phase of space missions, from Human Spaceflight in LEO and Beyond, to robotic planetary explorations missions, from reentry vehicles operations, to scientific satellites missions science data centers and operations.

Duties

The most relevant activities that characterize the position are the following:

  • Coordinate the project team for all aspect granting team working
  • Manage customer interfaces, building trust and comms with customer.
  • Manage the assigned budget in term of Cost and Schedule Control of the Programs.
  • Support Projects requests in terms of resources adequacy.
  • Manage the program resources in accordance with the approved scenario.
  • Coordinate the project team in difficult situations or crisis in order to reach a recovery plan.
  • Manage Risks & Opportunities.
  • Report regularly with program core team and with the other Company units for criticalities and priority calls.
  • Prepare/manage bid/changes and projects proposals in coordination with the Head of Unit and with the Business Development and Sales unit.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in aerospace engineering or a major scientific disciplines.
  • Fluent in English (spoken/written).
  • Good knowledge of Financial parameters.
