Position Title: ESA ISS INCREMENT ENGINEER (m/f)
ALTEC is looking for an Engineer or other technical Master Degree (m/f) to fulfil the ESA Increment Engineer (ESA IE) position within the Columbus mission at DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen – Munich (Germany), starting in January 2024.
The ESA IE is a member of the ESA Increment Management Team and is supporting the ESA Increment Manager (IM) who, as Mission Manager appointed to a specific increment or ESA astronaut mission, is responsible for the increment complement integration based on a released Increment Requirements Document (IRD) and for the overall increment implementation during preparation and operations phases of the International Space Station (ISS).
During the increment integration phase, the ESA IE creates and maintains the ESA Increment Schedule as well as the Working Baseline Overview (WBO), which provides detailed information for all the increment objectives listed in the Increment Requirements Document (IRD) and is used by the increment team as baseline for all matters regarding increment integration.
During the increment preparation phase the ESA IE supports regular tag-ups with the NASA IM (IMTs) and coordination for the Increment Operations Review (IOR) and Certificate of Flight Readiness (CoFR) campaigns. The ESA IE is also supporting the ESA IM for the Management of ESA inputs to NASA Increment Definition and Requirements Document (IDRD), Current Stage Requirements Document(CSRD) and its Annexes
The ESA IE supports the ESA IM for the organization and facilitation of the Increment Coordination Meetings (ICM) as well for all IRD Change Notices (CN) and IRD updates, as writer and coordinator.
The ESA IE supports the ESA IM throughout the CoFR Process and acts as CoFR Coordinator. The IE is authoring the CoFR Instruction Letter, reviewing in coordination with the ESA IM the applicable Open Work items (OW) and the services readiness statements, and as secretary of all CoFR Meetings (multiple Vehicle CoFR campaigns throughout the end of the Increment execution). The ESA IE also supports weekly Mission Management Team meeting (MMT) and acts as secretary for the Joint Mission Management Meetings.
In addition there can be ad hoc tasks that the IE might perform, either upon request of the IM or due to e.g. on-orbit operations circumstances that require non-standard handling.
A University degree in an engineering or technical discipline is required.
