Position Title: Business Development Manager

ALTEC is seeking a Business Development professional to help and support the Company in its growth ambitions.
This position will appeal to an individual that thrives on developing and closing deals in the space market, on areas such as human exploration and cutting edge technologies on data processing, AI ML, and also with a broader vision and attitude to capture new markets opportunities. The successful candidate will likely have a strong customer network within the Italian space industry, and a deep knowledge of Institutional (i.e. ASI/ESA) markets and their inherent mechanisms. The role will appeal to a self-starter, who is highly motivated, accustomed to working independently but who can also work effectively in a team and lead new initiatives also from a technical stand-point.


  • Identify business opportunities with existing and new clients in Italy
  • Develop and maintain specific focused client relationships (long term)
  • Lead the implementation of Company business plan
  • Lead the definition and update of Company’s strategic plan
  • Identify potential partners to guarantee the optimization of ALTEC’s positioning in Italy and in
    Europe, as well as for specific opportunities
  • Become fully conversant in, and able to demonstrate, ALTEC’s value proposition and services
  • Interact with the ALTEC technical experts & provide customer feedback
  • Support/Manage the preparation of offers and proposals to customers in liaison with ALTEC’s Bid
  • Support negotiation of resulting contracts
  • Coordinate with ALTEC’s Communication team to ensure the Company’s social media and web
    pages are up-to-date and adherent to ALTEC’s value proposition
  • Liaise with Space Agencies’ representative to keep them up to date with respect to Company’s
    values and proposition and to revise, as needed, Company’s Business Plan/strategies


  • At least 5 years of experience in a business development role, ideally within the space sector
  • Good knowledge of complete business winning lifecycle, including capture, qualification and
    developing capture plans and win strategies
  • Ability to establish and meet deadlines, multi-task and prioritise multiple, simultaneous activities
  • An undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Business, Mathematics or related


  • Commercial / financial / business acumen
  • Excellent communicator with strong planning and delivery orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Able to build relationships with colleagues and work cooperatively with others to achieve goals
  • Excellent written and spoken Italian and English


  • Proven track record in the development of service and system/software business for the space
  • Knowledge of ASI and ESA institutions and industry
  • Experience of Italian national Space programmes
