ALTEC is involved in several Science and Technological Programs in the aerospace domain where the science data center is a relevant part of the ground segment to accomplish the mission objectives. ALTEC has the know-how and provides the competences to design, implement and validate scientific ground segment and in addition prepares and executes the processing operations phase to support the science teams.

The Data Processing System and Scientific and Technological Application group hosts the engineers, physicists and mathematicians who oversee the space mission data systems from definition to end of operations; it develops the data systems for the missions and it supports execution of science operations on ground; it archives and curates data during operations and beyond. Moreover, it is involved in the post-mission data exploitation in order to create application devoted to maximize the information value extracted from collected data.


You will be part of the team that is in charge of all operations aspects preparation, validation and execution of data processing operations under the ALTEC responsibility.
You will work in close collaboration with the software engineers, data engineers, data scientists and infrastructure engineer during project phases.
You will be in charge of planning and execution of daily operations interfacing the scientist to receive input and provide result and the engineers to maintain and evolve the science data center systems.
You will contribute to the operations preparation through writing and validating procedure, participation to validation campaign, setting operation tools and prepare training resources.


A BSc or equivalent degree in physics, mathematics and engineering with high score.

Ability to use basic command and scripting languages of Linux operating system.

Ability to use SQL language to querying and accessing data.

Ability to use data analysis and manipulation tools (e.g. Pandas)

Ability to use the following development tool: Notebook, gitlab, etc..

Ability to perform troubleshooting and profiling software running in a distributed environment.

Ability to use scientific applications in operations tracking issue and provide input for their evolution roadmap

Knowledge functional programming with coding experience in python.

Knowledge of XML and JSON data interchange formats for metadata description.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Good knowledge of the English language.
